The children at Sneha Sadana, Friendship House, throng around you, looking at you with wide-eyed wonder. They call you “uncle” and “aunty,” and shower you with questions. They sing and dance, and holding your hand, they skip up and down the compound walks and nearby hills, chattering, giggling and having a good time. Like children everywhere….

You’d never guess that these laughing spirits are kids from the local villages born to parents with no means to feed, clothe and provide them decent shelter. If not for the services of Sneha Sadana, a facility of the CSST, these children would have spent their young lives in dire poverty. Their parents’ illiteracy and lack of aspiration would have confined them to an impoverished life. They would have ended up taking care of younger siblings, working in cotton fields and chili yards, herding sheep and goats, or doing domestic work for middle class families. And being a burden on their parents, they would probably have faced a bleak future, married off painfully young.

At present, Sneha Sadana has over fifty young boarders, children of all faiths and backgrounds under one embracing roof.

Countless children in other parts of India and Africa, like those at Sneha Sadana, are desperately waiting to be given a lift. You can help by sponsoring one or more of them and give them the gift of a hopeful future. A mere $200 will educate a child for a year.

It should be noted that sponsoring a child entails an ongoing commitment to renew your donation of $200 annually until he or she passes out of high school. If you should ever need to opt out of this arrangement due to changes in your own circumstances, we will make the necessary adjustments and find other sponsors to pick up where you left off.
